Good afternoon,

For all those that utilize PPCT - Threat Pattern Recognition and are looking to do their yearly recertifications. Here is an update, many officers have contacted me and Program concerned about the October 1st, 2023 deadline for courses being accredited. After months of work, we have submitted the PPCT - TPR course accreditation package and it is being reviewed. There is new Canadian content added to meet the accreditation guidelines and will result in a Canadian Textbook, exam and PowerPoint as well as a Canadian Certificate being issued that will have the Alberta Accreditation number added. This will assist the Peace Officer program in determining who has received accredited training.

Those instructors wishing to fall under PPCT's accreditation will need to take training in the Canadian content prior to being approved by PPCT. Once the accreditation process is complete and accreditation is received there will be multiple 1/2 day training sessions scheduled for Alberta and Canadian PPCT TPR Instructors to receive the updated Canadian content training. There is a host agency in the South interested in hosting a training session, if anyone is interested in hosting a training session in the North please contact me.

W have a full 4 day PPCT TPR Course scheduled for November 4-7, 2023 in Drayton Valley and a 2 day PPCT Recertification Course scheduled November 17/18, 2023 in Carstairs, AB. Both of these courses will include the new Canadian content.
