I hope this proceeds, as it would be a good progression if it is sustainable. At a previous agency, I had emailed SolGen about obtaining the required training to have expanded authorities, and was promptly told that the Commanding Officer of K Div did not support Peace Officers having the expanded authorities, and since they are the Governing Police Agency for that agency, SolGen could not approve the amended appointment....

If one day we are to get extra authorities within the criminal code, am I going to get paid more as I'm taking on more responsibilities? Am I going to be armed? By me taking on these authorities will the local police start pawning stuff on us thus becoming lazy? Will the City hire more Peace Officers as we are already over burdened and can't keep up with all of our current work load.
