2017 Police and Peace Officer Memorial Day

Post by Cody_Rossing »

Hi everyone,
Just a reminder of the 2017 Police and Peace Officer Memorial Day. This years event will be held on Sunday, September 24, 2017 at 1:00PM at the Alberta Legislature located downtown Edmonton.

If you were planning on attending, please arrive by 12:30PM so that we can get formed up and be ready to start prior to 1pm. We will be mustering near the top of the hill at the legislature and will be marching down with the Alberta Fish and Wildlife Branch.

If you have a dress uniform, please wear it. If you do not, please don't feel you cannot attend, simply wear your normal duty uniform less the duty belt and vest.

I hope to see many of you out to honour Alberta's fallen law enforcement officers.

We will be Troop #8 and that the uniform order of dress should include the wearing of the Police and Peace Officer Memorial Pin and proper headdress. Given that the march off is scheduled at 1300 hours, participating Peace Officers should be at the staging area (bus stop south of 99 avenue on 107 street) no later than 1230 hours for briefing of commands, drill and protocol.

Thanks to everyone that came out yesterday and showed your support to honour Alberta's fallen officers. We had a great turnout (although could always be better) at about 25 officers.. See you all at next years event which will be held September 30, 2018!
